THERAPIES

Physical Therapy - Physical therapy can help restore and maintain function, improve mobility, relieve pain, and prevent or limit permanent physical disabilities of patients suffering from injuries. Treatment often includes stretches and exercises for patients who have been injured and lack balance in their body's flexibility, strength, and endurance. The goal is to improve, maintain, restore, and promote overall fitness and health.

Soft Tissue Techniques - We primarily utilize trigger point therapy, positional release technique, myofascial release, static and PNF stretching. We educate patients on proper stretching techniques and set up home treatment protocols to improve treatment results. Patient dedication and compliance is an important component of the rehabilitative process and can increase healing and decreasing the total number of corrective treatments needed.

Rehabilitative Exercises - Once the initial injury has been stabilized and the body has begun to heal rehabilitative exercises are utilized to fine-tune the mechanics of the body. It is very important to address both balance in strength and endurance of the body's core musculature. The employment of a customized rehabilitative protocol can improve treatment outcomes as well as prevent future instabilities from developing.

Percussion Therapy (VibraCussor) - Percussion is a new treatment modality for those who suffer from musculoskeletal pain and myofascial trigger syndrome. It is non-surgical, non-invasive procedure that may serve as a therapeutic alternative to trigger point and epidural injections or to be used when other treatments have failed.

Cold Laser Therapy - The term cold laser refers to the use of low-intensity or low levels of laser light. Cold laser treatment is used to help some types of pain, inflammation, and wound healing. These lasers are used directly on or over the affected area. Cold lasers can also be used for acupuncture, with laser beams to stimulate the body's acupoints rather than needles (see Acupuncture). This treatment regimen appeals to those who want acupuncture but who fear the pain of needles.

Massage Therapy - At our health care center we staff two licensed massage therapists and an esthetician. They specialize in a variety of techniques ranging from:

Swedish Massage

Deep Tissue Massage

Myofascial Integration

Ayurvedic Body Massage

Skin Treatments and Facials

BEFE Therapy (Bio Electric Field Enhancement) - This Therapy is used to enhance and amplify the bodies own ability to heal itself. The treatment takes about 30 minutes, and is done in a foot bath. The BEFE unit produces a "bio charge" compatible with our body, which helps stimulate healing to take place at an accelerated rate. Some common benefits from this therapy include; relief from pain, arthritis, detoxification, allergies, bacterial infections, skin conditions, blood pressure, and loss of energy/vitality.
Far Infrared Sauna Therapy - This therapy is the combination of a sauna treatment in conjunction with the healing modality of far infrared energy. This therapy is used clinically and has been confirmed to assist the body with a variety of conditions including; improves blood circulation, strengthens the cardiovascular system, eases joint pain and stiffness, relaxes muscles, increases flexibility, relieves pain, removes toxins/mineral wastes, improves immune function, and reduces stress and fatigue.

TDP Lamp (FIM - Far Infrared Mineral Lamp) - The FIM (Far-Infrared Mineral) medical device features a plate coated with a mineral formation consisting of 33 elements, essential to the human body. When activated by its heating element, the mineral plate emits deep penetrating, far-infrared waves. The energy waves transmitted coincide with the natural, healing far-infrared waves generated by our own bodies, and are absorbed into our tissues. At the molecular level, this exerts strong rotational and vibrational forces in the cells of these tissues. This absorbed energy has been found to yield many therapeutic effects on the human body by:

  • dilating blood vessels and increasing blood flow and oxygen saturation;
  • accelerating the decomposition of unstable cells;
  • enhancing white blood cell function, increasing immune response; and
  • stimulating the hypothalamus, which controls the production of neurochemicals, which control sleep, mood, pain, and blood pressure
