CHIROPRACTIC TECHNIQUES

Dr. Finucan provides a broad spectrum of chiropractic techniques that he utilizes with patient care. These techniques are safe and effective. Many times the doctor will use a combination of these techniques to create an individual custom treatment protocol for each patient's needs.

Diversified Technique - This is a technique that is used to address biomechanical failure in each section of the spine, as it relates to specific subluxation. Diversified adjusting of the spine uses specific lines of drives for all manual thrusts, allowing for specificity in correcting mechanical distortions of the spine. Diversified methods have been developed to adjust extremity joints, allowing for beneficial applications in treating sports injuries and other injuries.

Thompson Drop Technique - This technique uses an adjusting table with a pneumatically driven, segmented drop system, which quickly lowers the section of the patient's body corresponding with the spinal region being adjusted. The doctor thrusts at high speed, using minimal force, because while the thrusts initiates movement, the fast drop carries the joint through the reminder of its range of motion.

Activator Method - This method uses a spring loaded instrument with a specific line of drive and can be set to deliver force ranging from nine to thirty-three pounds per square inch. The instrument is patented and was approved in 1984 by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, for use in adjustive procedures.
Arthro-Stim - The Arthro-Stim V is a spring loaded motorized instrument with a specific line of drive that can be set to deliver an adjustable force. The thrusting force can be instantly changed from mere ounces of pressure up to about 40 lbs. This instrument can produce multiple thrusting rates ranging from 12-14 thrusts per second down to a single thrust for each pull of the trigger. Easily interchangeable adaptors enable the Arthro-Stim Instrument to be utilized in a wide variety of techniques and applications. IMPAC Inc has been producing high quality adjusting instruments for the Chiropractic profession since 1982.
NCR - Neuro-Cranial Restructuring -This procedure is an advanced cranial adjustment technique that manipulates the bones in the skull and face. It can help a variety of conditions ranging from; headache, chronic ear infections, chronic sinus infections, seizers, and sleep apnea. The doctor uses a small finger cot (a small balloon) to push the bone in a desired direction. The finger cot is the best and most gentle way to move these bones. This is done by placing the small deflated balloon in the nasal passage against the bone and then when the balloon is inflated it moves the bone.

Applied Kinesiology - This technique employs a system of muscle testing to help determine problems with the body's structure, function and nutrition. Based on this information, patient history, and other appropriate diagnostic work-ups we can identify complex relationships between the structures and systems of the body. With this information we will customize a treatment protocol that will address the patient's condition. The treatments administered are a combination of chiropractic adjustments, therapeutic modalities, and nutritional protocols to strengthen and optimize the function of the body.

CRA - Contact Reflex Analysis (CRA) is an elaborate Applied Kinesiology system whose codeveloper and leading proponent is Dick A. Versendaal, D.C., of Holland , Michigan . According to Versendaal:

Research has proven the human body to be like a computer, made up of the brain (electrical generator and memory bank) and thousands of miles of electrical wires called nerves. These nerves connect every organ, gland and tissue of the body. These nerves also connect with "fuses" or "breaker switches" called contact reflexes. By contacting these reflexes, using the body's muscular system as an indicator, we are able to monitor the function of body systems.

NET - Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a powerful intervention that can assess and alleviate the internal stressors that are creating barriers to health and success. Emotions are part of the natural, healthy response process we have to virtually every situation we encounter. However, sometimes challenging emotional experiences and physical vulnerabilities create lingering stress in our mind-body architecture. Such stress can contribute to physical complaints, emotional difficulties, and problems with goal achievement.
